Family Support Worker – Good Beginnings
Grade III, Hourly
Provide comprehensive home visiting and parent education to first time, at-risk pregnant women. Have strong knowledge of community resources to provide linkage and support to program participants and their families. Education: GED or High School diploma minimum. Associates in Child Development or Human Services preferred. Experience in working with at-risk families, young children a plus.
Resident Advisor ( 2) – Supervised Independent Living Program
Grade V, Hourly
Provides therapeutic services to youth in order to encourage progressive independence, kinship connections and sustainability of learned skills in accordance with the agency mission, TLP treatment philosophy and program goals. Equips clients with the necessary tools for successful emancipation including helping them to provide for their care, welfare, safety, security and protection of their rights in accordance with their individual service plan, program plan, and applicable licensing/accreditation standards. Assist youth with necessary skills to be successful in utilizing community resources. Qualifications: Associates Degree in Human Services or related area preferred and/or 3 years experience serving adolescents. Ability to work with youth in order to enhance independence versus dependence; dependability; ability and judgment to work independently; demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in youth and families served; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.
Residential Counselor – Caterpillar Cottage ( 2 ), Atlantis ( 1 )
GRADE: VI, Hourly
Works directly with clients to provide for their care, welfare, safety, security and protection of their rights in accordance with individual service plans, the program plan, and applicable licensing/accreditation standards; provides therapeutic services in accordance with agency mission, residential treatment philosophy and program goals. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in social services or related field; preferred or will consider high school diploma with experience working with children and youth in such settings as residential, group homes, family services, juvenile justice, foster care, and special education. Must be at least 21 years of age to meet DCFS requirements; ability to remain awake and alert while on shift.
Foster Care Clinical Coordinator
Grade X, Salaried
Oversee service delivery system and supervise program staff in compliance with child welfare system requirements and with a priority for child welfare best practice criteria. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field (LCSW or LCPC preferred), plus supervisory experience and experience and/or other training preparing individual to work with families and youth. Thorough knowledge of community resources and services; effective supervisory skills; ability to organize and execute responsibilities in an independent manner; ability to work within a team framework; maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in families; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner.
Behavioral Health Assessment Therapist
Grade IX, Salary
Completes comprehensive mental health assessments and case openings for Behavioral Health Services programs as well as provides therapeutic case management and referral and linkage services. Provides pre-
hospital screenings to determine need for psychiatric care. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field (LCSW or LCPC preferred). Experience and/or other training preparing one to work with multi-problem youth in their own homes and other agencies.
Behavioral Health Services Therapist – SASS
Grade IX, Salary
Provides pre-hospital screenings for psychiatric care, diversion services and in-home clinical services to children and their families. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field (LCPC or LCSW preferred). Experience and/or other training preparing one to work with multi-problem youth in their own homes, community and other agencies.
Teacher Assistant – Kiefer School
Grade IV, Hourly
Assists teacher with classroom activities to ensure academic and behavioral functioning of students, and maintains professional boundaries and demeanor. Qualifications: Teacher Assistant Certificate or thirty hours college credit. Classroom experience strongly preferred, BA in education or social services, practical experience working with children.
AmeriCorps Fellow - Fostering Transitions AmeriCorps
Grade: exempt – bi-weekly living allowance and educational award paid upon completion of hours, part-time and 1 year commitment required
Works with the AmeriCorps Program Director and identified agency staff to facilitate the transition to adulthood for system dependent youth by helping them build self-esteem, increase/enhance daily living skills, enhance job readiness, identify and access appropriate community resources, learn skills needed to advocate for themselves and their unique needs and participate in vocational opportunities. Qualifications: Minimum age 17 years old, High School diploma or the equivalent (or agrees to continue attending school during and after term of service to obtain diploma/GED before using educational award earned). Personal experience with residential placement, foster care, adolescent mental health and/or juvenile justice systems desired. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and as a team member; demonstrate maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic and confidential manner; ability to pass a DCFS background check, physical exam and TB test.
Maintenance Associate
Grade IV, Hourly
Maintains agency facilities and grounds. Qualifications: High school education preferred; previous maintenance experience and/or specialized training in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc. Ability to basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, yard care, etc.; effective time management; ability to work independently and in a project team; ability to read and follow directions; ability to exercise sound judgement when using tools, equipment and chemicals. Must be able to read written instructions; must be able to communicate well in writing or speaking; ability to lift at least 50 pounds; ability to stand and walk most of the working day; physical body dexterity to allow for bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, etc. when moving, lifting, or installing equipment, appliances, furniture; ability to work in various temperatures and seasonal conditions; ability to transport self and equipment and tools to various agency locations.
Member Development Coach – (30 hr/week)
Grade V, Hourly
Collaborates with AmeriCorps Program Director to provide intensive supervision, ongoing job skills training and professional development/coaching to AmeriCorps members to ensure successful completion of terms of service while addressing the employability needs of each member. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalency in social work, psychology, human services, education or related field; previous supervisory experience and knowledge of AmeriCorps preferred; case management experience desired. |
