Healing Together: Relaunching Our Community Trauma Team
We’re proud to officially relaunch our Community Trauma Team (CTT) with support from the Peoria City/County Health Department—a collaborative and compassionate initiative designed to respond, support, and uplift our community during times of crisis.
Whether it’s after a traumatic incident, a natural disaster, or an event that shakes the emotional core of a neighborhood, the CTT is here to help communities process, rebuild, and thrive. We offer support to all community members in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Putnam, Stark, and Marshall Counties.
Who is the Community Trauma Team?
The CTT is a diverse group of trained mental health professionals and volunteers who provide trauma-informed support in the aftermath of distressing events. Our team is prepared to respond quickly and thoughtfully to community needs, offering immediate emotional support services. Our volunteers are trained in CPR, First Aid, Psychological First Aid, FEMA IS 100 & 700, and Sensory Inclusive® Certified through Kulture City.
Why This Matters
In moments of crisis, having a coordinated, caring response can make all the difference. The CTT steps in to offer stability, healing conversations, and accessible mental health resources when communities need them most. Our team is committed to culturally responsive care that honors the voices and values of every individual we serve.

Together, We Can Build a Stronger Central Illinois Community
By launching the Community Trauma Team, we are planting seeds of resilience. We believe in the power of showing up, listening deeply, and walking alongside individuals and communities as they navigate healing journeys.
We’re honored to be a part of this important work and look forward to partnering with schools, organizations, faith leaders, and all residents to strengthen the safety net that holds us all together. For more information or to request the support of the CTT, please contact CommunityTraumaTeam@chail.org, or 309-315-9876, leave a detailed message, and a member of the CTT will reach out during normal business hours, Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30pm.
