The Magic of the Holidays at Children’s Home 

The holidays at Children’s Home are a truly magical time where the spirit of giving shines bright. Many of our Children’s Home teams and community partners work tirelessly to ensure every child and family we serve experiences the wonder of the season. 

A Team Effort

Each year, we collect over 1,100 personalized wish lists from the youth and families we support. Our staff members connect with clients to understand their holiday hopes and wishes. These lists are then shared with our generous community who eagerly volunteer to fulfill them. 

Behind the scenes, a dedicated army of volunteers steps up to make the magic happen. They assist with everything from decorating our facilities to organizing Santa’s Workshop, wrapping presents, and even last-minute wish list shopping. 

Once the gifts begin arriving at our Knoxville headquarters, gifts are checked in, organized, then delivered to their program home base—the LAST stop before our incredible program (Clinical, Community, Education, Placement and Prevention) team members ensure each gift reaches its intended recipient, bringing holiday joy to every child and family. 

Lighting Up from the Inside 

Gifts are just one part of the holiday season at Children’s Home. Our “A Light in Every Window” campaign illuminates our Knoxville building throughout the end of the year, serving as a visible reminder of our commitment to brightening the lives of our youth and families year-round. This campaign also inspires generous community donations to support our ongoing work beyond the holiday season. To date, our 2024 campaign has raised over $123,000! 

The Ultimate Gift 

Throughout the holiday season, countless community members poured through our doors, dropping off gifts and fulfilling wishes. Some fulfilled a single wish, while others embraced multiple requests. Each gift brought with it the assurance that no child in our care would miss out on the joy of the holiday season. 

As the holiday season concludes, one thing becomes abundantly clear: the support Children’s Home receives from the community is truly remarkable, a reminder of the generosity, hope, and unwavering cheer of our community.
